  I arrived from a horrendous medical adventure that started at urgent care, referred to the ER and left with a prescription. Jason, the pharmacy manager proved to be the kindest, most compassionate medical professional I interacted with over the course of the entire 5 hour experience. He recognized immediately that the prescription the ER doctor wrote might be difficult to fill as it was a brand with no generic equivalent. He looked at both of my insurance cards and said they are good at all newberg pharmacies. His pharmeceutical experience combined with a high level of emotional intelligence enabled him to see the exhaustion and disappointment of the human being he was interacting with. I could honestly say this was not the case in the Providence urgent care or the newberg ER. Jason could have sent me on my way to each of the other newberg pharmacies on a prescription treasure hunt. He didn't, instead he used his professional credentials, picked up the phone and made two calls, the last of which had the medication. It was my first time using the Rite Aid pharmacy. It will now be the first and only pharmacy I use based on the compassionate action of one uniquely rare professional who went above and beyond to help another human being who happened to also be a customer.
